I scrape the bowl with the shiv, removing a small amount of encrusted food which I feed to Dennis, to further strengthen our bond to each other. I then point him to the crevasse above the door, holding the leash and say, "go Dennis!" expecting him to climb up the door without any yeeting necessary.
I look through the crack at the bottom of the door to see if I can get any glimpse at what is on the other side...
