Had a meeting in a basement bar in the centre of town today about doing a painting there. It's pretty cramped and is usually frequented by a younger crowd of students in the evenings.
The bar manager was saying he often has to cover shifts of staff that have had covid, but keep getting chest infections since they've recovered.
He also mentioned that a 31 year old member of staff died from it.

Good news is, the bar is getting busy, busy, busy again.

    • Did you wear a mask?palimpsest
    • When I first arrived it was only two of us in there, so no. But as more folk arrived I did when measuring up the space.PhanLo
    • My wife's aunt is gravely ill and we're going to visit next week, to say goodbye, so getting the rona could be a bit of a spanner in that plan.PhanLo
    • Just found out that two people who work in the studios/bar here have come down with the Covid, after my 'always injured' friend did last week, so clearly...Nairn
    • ..this place had a minor spreader event a couple of weeks back. Thankfully for me I'm antisocial.Nairn
    • (One had had only one shot and the other is the sort I imagine is anti-vax, although I'm perhaps being unfair in assuming as much)Nairn
