How do you tackle arrangements? I always find it the painful ball-ache of the process.
It's the part of the process that feels like work (for me at least).
I've been doing this shit for nearly 30 years and still hate this essential part, that's why I enjoyed collaborating over the past few years, some people love it.
I never quite get it like the live jam.

    • comments about Ableton doing it for you will be ignored, I'm on Logic and I'd rather it didn't do it however painful the process is.fadein11
    • Sorry to say it but thats where Live shines. Get something like a launchpad/push to launch scenes, jam for ages and record it..microkorg
    • ..then listen back, earmark the bits you like and cut them out and rearrange.
This was a gamechanger for me back when I started using live.

    • Means your final compositions are made out of all the best bits from your jam(s).microkorg
    • yeah everyone says Ableton is best at this but I just don't want to learn a new DAW... I've used Logic before it was even called Logic.fadein11
    • But yes, I prob should finally move for this reason alone, thanks. Have 3 tracks I'm really pleased with ready to be arranged but keep putting it off afterfadein11
    • a failed attempt. I'm just being lazy in reality I think.fadein11
    • a push/launchpad for scenes and a multi-knob controller for control over many parameters within a song and you're jammin and remixing on the flymicrokorg
    • I haven't released anything for over a year and need to get these finished, the pandemic didn't make me productive at all...fadein11
    • I need to get these done and was venting when half pissed but thanks, I do need to look at Ableton, I'm so stuck in my ways.fadein11
    • Just spotted this post. I love the arrangement part of it all. Trying to replicate something that sounds like you're jamming is THE challengeIanbolton
