    Hi QBN, I need your help!

    I have a frame that I want to function as a live mockup. Inside that frame I want to have fields where I can enter text and see it render live 1:1 in a mockup.

    I can make this work using Components and Instances—UNTIL I want to make the whole frame a Master Component itself (like a master slide). These form fields functioning as Master Components (MC) to populate Instances in the mockup.

    What I've seen is that I can't have MCs nested within other MCs. And when I duplicate MCs they become Instances and my functionality breaks.

    Is there another way I can do this? Maybe with variants? Plugins (although I'm concerned they may break)? Am I just missing something basic?

    • Figma app or Figma mirror could work and then you don’t really need the master components at all...nb
    • Or, don’t worry about everything being a component. Just make a master component out of your parent frame, and put an instance on the device.nb
    • I’m not sure exactly what you’re trying to do but it seems very easynb
