Hey, Brits - can any of you remember a small gelatin-based purple sweet that tasted of lavendar or something, from the mid 80s?

It was like a tinier-sized midget gem hard gum thing that had a very specific taste and colour.

I can't for the life of me remember what they were.

    • not smelling of a bandage. possibly lavender though.Nairn
    • Parma Violets?PhanLo
    • Immediate thought was Parma Violets but they aren’t gelatin, more of the ‘refresher’ style but smaller.Morning_star
    • No, I just ate a pack of parma violets and that's what prompted the thought :)Nairn
    • (halloween haul. i don't generally eat random sweets. Christ. "signs your getting old" Why not eat sweets? We're all going to die anyway, shapesalad included).Nairn
    • Usually end up eating Parma Violets as leftovers too. No one really wants to eat them.PhanLo
    • They weren’t some kind of special medication were they :-)Morning_star
    • Cherry lips? I appreciate they were/are not floral or purple.MrT

    • I doubt these weird things were imported or exported to any sane country with a decent sweet culture. They were like tiny early abortions from a bygone ageNairn
