    Well, for one thing, copywriters don't charge per word; they either have hourly rates or day rates, like any other self-respecting freelancer.

    Secondly, shape is right: native spaker/writer is no guarantee of quality. One of the very best CWs on the team I was managing at my old agency was from the Philippines, and was most certain'y not a native speaker.
