A copy will always be a copy but I think the phrase "Songs arise out of suffering" is key to understanding those that embrace AI and those that are wary of it.

    He goes on to say:
"Songs arise out of suffering, by which I mean they are predicated upon the complex, internal human struggle of creation and, well, as far as I know, algorithms don’t feel."

How we understand art and creativity is probably at the source of what puts us in either camp.

    • We already make art like AI. Based on trends and cultures. But better art should be the ones coming from genuine emotional forceBeeswax
    • That's the massive force that separates us from all other beings including AI. Being limited sentient creatures make us exposable to sufferings & shortcomings.Beeswax
    • an AI doesn't need to be nursed by a mom thus have everything from the very beginning. AI won't feel his past experience and reflect them to nowBeeswax
    • an AI doesn't need love so doesn't really know sadness but we live and die for it. What a joy.Beeswax
    • After Yang is a great movie about an AI having emotions. But I don't think it's possible, it can only replicate.Beeswax
