so... you're creating a brand...
going into it, you know it will have variations / derivations
do you create only the type necessary for the core logo wordmark and subsequent variations?
or do you you bite the bullet and select a typeface to serve all of these purposes?
the main brand names and variations will be integrated into physical merchandise
finally, the choice is exclusively up to you
TL;DR?
design logo & brand type from scratch or use a typeface for these purposes?
- I usually start with an off the shelf typeface, get the look i want. Make the type a vector then craft it to be unique.Morning_star
- i would normally do something similar, that means i need to begin with a family and work from that instead of scratch.imbecile
