now for real, when we organized our wedding ceremony, the first list had 500 guests, and it didn't count ex-coworkers, numerous acquaintances from college, and families of our closest friends. Just different friend groups and family.
I guess it depends on many factors: the community you grew up with, your sociability level... My guess would be that an average person might meet around 1000 people; at least until we biologically start clearing cache for memory purposes.
