they haven't been formalized yet. But basically you pick a handful of judges, make a scoring system, pick a handful of contestants. The judge throws up an initial image to be photoshopped, the next contestant then takes the image, and builds on it or destroys it, maintaining some sort of similar theme or aesthetic and keeping the same dimensions. Usually 800x600 or 640x480 is good enough. There's usually a set amount of time in which you have to do it (an hour or two) or you're skipped. You do a couple rounds.... and a winner is announced... or laughs are had... or whatever....
