The skulls was started becuase all the old respected schools in europe had secret societies and Yale wanted to join in. My grandfather was a member ; Stoddard King - 1914 ( I even have the membership book... kind of spooky all pictures with no names) anywho. They gave him a rather large grandfather clock and a grand piano for his wedding present when he was only 20. I often wonder if Bush and Kerry got the same gifts, but as far as I can tell they were just a boys club. My grandfather was not rich... just a poet and songwriter. Those gifts are all he ever got out of the club.
