    thanks for the help Anarchitect but I don't think this will work because the clips have alpha changes so the background needed to shine through. I'm sure there is a way around that but I came up with something else.

    I basically created a movie clip, dropped all 10 clips into this clip. On the last frame within each clip the action is

    _root.newclip.clip1.goto AndPlay("start");

    Obviously it would be clip1, clip2, etc...It seems to be working fine but I'm new to this so...
