    I think they are being anal and because of that you are being paranoid.

    with the bounds of intellectual property contractual agreement (look at your contract), you are giving the design to them. Its like you make a logo for them and you turning around later saying that you own that and you have only lend the rights to use to them for a period of time.

    similar to that would be rights managed photograph. when you buy rights managed photo, you have limits and bounds of what, how and duration of you can use.

    one more example would like, having that student who designed the nike logo suing nike for intellectual property rights after it becomes famous, and which you know didnt happen.

    I think they are just paranoid of everything.
