back in high school i had a friend that worked at a local grocery store open 24 hours. we'd go in there late night and he'd set us up with a few cubes of the stuff.
the next night we'd throw a party and fill a bunch of cooking pots half full with water and place a piece of the cube in it then set it on the floor. it creates a really cool fog like effect that would hover on the floor. cheap too.
