the vw golf and beetle are they most sold cars in the history of the world. golf has been consistantly one of the world's best selling cars since its introduction.
in the US market, one of the big reasons that vw sales have been down has been vw taking 6 years to introduce new models of the golf and jetta. there has been three main issues with the current model golfs/jettas. alll of which has been fixed but the 2002.5 model year.
i could go on about vw of a but vw is not that far off. there are many companies struggling in the us worse than vw. the US market is also only a fraction compared to VAG's operations.
