yeah... my 4 wisdom teeth were "impacted". They gave be the best drugs ever, though.
My face swelled up like a friggin balloon, and pieces of bone and tooth came up through my gums for weeks. Not fun... except for the drugs, that is.
I was awake for the procedure, on a liquid valium & nitrous... Happy happy happy... until the drugs wore off. ouch.
I think it really depends on your teeth. I think my case was a bit extreme.
