It's not a racial issue. Just in general, people take Shaq for granted. He's so dominating that it's not a surprise when he puts up great numbers. Shaq has won 1 MVP and really should have won 5-6 others. All those other years it wasn't about race, and it's not now. With that said, of course Shaq should have won.
It just is refreshing to see this little white guy with wild hair dominate, if only because it's a novelty, but if you go to any barbershop in the hood, you'll get the same opinion. Brothas like white boys who can ball. They liked Jason Williams, they liked Larry Bird--both because they were tight, and also because these guys were great passers, like Nash is.
