As if it wasn't tough enough to cross the border after sept 11 for Canadians, now every hoser that tries to enter the US will have drug dogs sniffing their crotches...

have fun going through the immigration process. it's very very tough. it's not impossible to gain citizenship there, but damn near close.

you may not serve jail time for a first offence but it still goes on your criminal record in the US

MrDinky, you're kidding right? 340,000 people immigrate to the US every year. 70,000 people seek political asylum here every year as well.

Great rock n' roll and art in this country. I live on the East Coast and it seems everyone I know is in a band, paints, makes movies, writes.... It's a great place to live.
A small film company based in Halifax, NS, Canada produced 'Bowling for Columbine'.. thought it was interesting that this film was made by Canadians.

i live in BC, one of weeds hot spots in canada. i wouldn't be surprized if there is a street celebration. in bc, weed is just about of the culture. even if you don't smoke it.

i don't know about anyone else, but i'm canadian and have a criminal record because i was in possession of 2.8g of hash...because of this it basically means that i'm not allowed into the states...although i can travel anywhere else.
if my crime would have been B&E over 5000 i'd have an easier time gettig into the US than this minor drug offense
half of my business involves the states...
and people in the states who think we have weird accents...you ever visited northen florida, texas, or N.O?
y'all has some misrepresented abilities to says what yous means.

in all fairness, i think any criminal record that one has from possession should be erased. it is not fair to decriminalize the stuff but then to leave a gaping wound with many people is not fair.

dude
hash is another story...weed is like smoking with a kick..

i had to wait a few years before my papers came in.
us immigration is highly unorganized. the left hand doesn't know what the right hand is doing. plus, america is home to some of the most shadiest lawyers ever.
but, i know people who have tried to get citizenship in canada. from what i hear, it's easy if you have a job up there already, or if you're married to a citizen. it helps if you're college educated as well.

I think some people are afraid that if weed is decriminalized then criminals will turn to more violent means of making a buck.
like car-jackings and home invasions.
