I just got my canon s200 and im kinda dissapointed. I took it around town took a few pictures and this is how they came out.

Does anyone else think they suck? I used full rez and all. Is it just that my settings are wack or is it just the fact that 2mp cameras aren't that good. Im thinking of shelling out the cash for the s230 3mp. Am I going to get much better results?

it looks like there's some kind of noise filter on it.

yeah whats up with that? Is this common of the canon s200? Ive seen a lot of sample shots done with it and they don't liook like mine.

Anyone have the Canon powershot s200 Digital Elph?

hmmm.....looks like u either used a long (very long) shutterspeed...(but not likely) or a very high ISO-value...
Digital camera's have these nasty side effects with these settings...
you should check http://www.dpreview.com and see the samples they made with your camera.....maybe the chip is fucked or something....

damnn those look nasty..no offense...I own a powershot g1, amazing pics

I think you got it.
My ISO setting were set on 400 for some reason. damnit. Thanks

well, it still sucks pretty bad on ISO 400.....
I recommend to compare or check the tests on dpreview.
Unless you only want to make funpics, I migh go back to the store if I where you....It's really bad...

i shoot hassleblad, but when i do play with digital, i cant fuk with anything less than 4. what you are seeing is what 2 megapixels looks like.
dont waste money on 3 mp... go to 4 at least.
- unknown0
hmm... Carty has a point too...
4MP is not as expensive anymore either...

Well, they do have a graininess to them. Could be because of the lighting. What kind of manual settings does your camera have?
Dont worry, someone professional will come on and tell you how to fix it.
- err0
Fixed it. The manual settings were left on. Ive only had this camera for a matter of hours.
2MP are fine for what Im doing. I would like a 4mp camera but cmon I feel bad spending $300 on a camera already. I can't imagine shelling out the cash for a 4mp camera.
To me, the whole point of a digital camera these days is convenience. And I like the small size.
