I have never done this, but I am interested if anyone has any good starting points, resources, and what I need to get started?

I designed 2 fonts ages ago, I had never even opened fontographer. Thats all I did, just drew them up and tinkered a bit in fontographer. Sure you need to get in depth if your doing real serious body fonts but to get a start on headline fonts or web use fonts its real easy to get started. Consider your kerning when designing the letters.
I just wish I had the time

just saw this thread and it caught my interest. there doesn't seem to be a trial download of fontographer on macromedia. anyone know where i can get one if it exists?

just a warning to anyone thinking of suggesting kazaa in response to bb's question: it would be morally wrong to pass on the knowledge that fontographer is freely available for download on the kazaa network.

yes, and definately dont try carracho or limewire, that would be wrong too.
