America is great, we all love it here. NY is fantastic (couldn't live there, though).
But there are so many rightous morons that get support here it's insane. No one cares about the Bush's admins abandoning the Clean Air act and lessening restrictions on big business pollution, etc., etc.
I'd go onto my religious ranting, but I need to get my coffee in me first ; )

It's ironic that Americans can be forced to clean their own air when US corporate pollution has world wide fallout...
Maybe this is the govt's way of keeping it's own house in order first? Or maybe it's just hypocrisy...
Come to London! Here you can smoke weed in the street : )
I'm sure there are pros and cons for both ways but I'm glad I'm on the side that recognises individual rights and responsibilities.

It sounds as if the reason the council has got involved is because smokers are to selfish to know when & where to think of others. Otherwise, i doubt they get involved. I'm sure they've more important things to worry about.

let's not call the US on hypocracy just yet.... everything starts with a first step.

This new law is gonna confuse me.
I'm a part-time smoker. I bum one from a buddy every now and then while i'm having a drink or dj'ing. I must admist, I like the freedom of smoking a cig.
But then again, I avoid going out about 90% of the time, mostly because i hate coming home smelling of smoke.
Okay, you got me. I don't go out because i'm freakin' lazy. But still, i don't like coming home smelling of cigs.
