it might lag a little because its being hosted at my house on my dsl.

The mouseovers fading the whole pics are a bit much, very sluggish if you quickly move your mouse forward and back. Perhaps only do the fades on mouseclick, rather than mouseover.
The transitions are really slow also, try making them fade through fewer frames, or even fade to white, then back to the next pic - so they're smoother. What framerate you using? Go for at least 24.
Designwise... nice and clean but lacks interest, especially when you first visit... a little intro text or something may help?

wie gehtz, mensch?
i like the look of it all a lot. i think the transitions are a bit too slow, and would prefer it if things changed on click rather than on mouseover.
the lighting on the photos is a little funny, they look very 'digital'. i think they work though apart from the one with that guy just smiling manically staring right down the barrel of the camera. and the feet! you chopped their feet off.
anyway, as i said i think it all looks good, and i like the portrait aspect.
what's the type? thesans?

thanks for the feedback.
i changed the fade speed. it's alto faster now.
i might just go and buy a tripod in order to take these pictures again. i was trying to take these pics having the camera on a ladder with some books and to tweak it, used some postcards. hella ghetto. it's also very hard because there is no sun in germany!
well, we'll see how it goes.
yeah, the sans. i guess that it's a european font.
anything else?

the guy in the yellowish suit is funny heheh ,
its an OK site , its functional , but i think you should make a nicer Loading , it looks like a loading ripped from a flashkit tutorial like that ...
also , the image fading is a bit slow , and the picture werent taken on the same height and they dont have the same lightning , maybe work them out in photoshop or take new ones...
thats it , as i said its an OK site.
the kind of site where the portfolio work makes the difference , and you have some nice work in there so , good job ...oh , im just a noob so my opinion maybe isnt very valuable :P
- stephen_pc0
nah...
your comments have validity.
the site is about 85% done. i still need to clean up alot of the aesthetics. but just wondering about functionality.

if i click on Portfolio and i want to click on anything you have listed, i can't because in moving my mouse diagonally towards anything, the mouse runs over another part of the top nav and it disappears.
i don't usually draw a 90 degree angle (mouse down, mouse left) when i move the mouse.
does that make sense?
- stephen_pc0
yeah.. that makes sense

i've made some of the recommended changes. i even requested that i take the photos again.

any other functional critiques or overall critiques?
being an LA boy, it's weird looking out on my window and seeing snow.
