if your brother is in combat arms.. then most likely... he will be in dangerous situations. if he is only in combat service support, most likely the level of danger will be less.
you can only support your brother to the best of your ability... whether you believe in the war or not.. and this goes for all americans...
when these young men and women put their life on the line.. we want them to ALL come home.. any single man or woman dying on foreign soil isnt going to teach our president a lesson.. there are not going to be any 'i told you so' going to SGT smith's family.
our govt is going to do what it is going to do.. people signed up to defend america... and now it's time to make good on those promises. there's no questioning authority for people in the military. it's simply execute your orders and get your ass home.
for me.. the desert was an experience like no other. i hope all that heed the call to action make it home safe but the reality is.. some may not.
personally, i sold everything i owned when i left for desert storm.. i honestly thought i would not live to see 22. but i did. if it is meant to happen.. death will happen in front of 7-11 or at grid coordinates GW00000711 it doesnt matter.
what us men and women in uniform need is support.. because honestly.. it's not our fight, we were told where to be and which way to shoot.
god bless the soldiers.

i had soldiers under me who because of whatever situation.. the army was the only alternative for them.. with a wife and 2 kids they were receiving FOOD STAMPS because military pay wasnt enough to live from.

BOMBS AWAY

No, but really that kinda' sucks for you. My Gfather was in WW2, Uncle in Korea, Dad in Vietnam, etc., etc. I don't want innocent people to die, but when it comes down to it, my country vs. their country. I'll take my country man. Paybacks are a bitch, even when innocent people die. Don't side with terrorists.

its a war for oil gentlemen, an effort to divert the american attention from the failing economy

dude, i almost know your pain 3 years ago when my bro was graduating HS my mom and I urged him to go to the army since it gave free education and such stuff -- man, even though he too isn't "the sharpest knife" how smart was him not listen to us...
My bro, now a student is still naive and actually is pro war so even if he was in the army being shipped out, he would feel that he's going to faight for a good cause...
If your bro thinks that he's going to faight for good cause, you won't change his views (is there such a thing as "conscious objector"?). Actually if he's faighting for his (even though wrong) believs it's still better than if he went because he was ordered to.

Dear Friend,
I live in Israel and my daugther [age 10] is having training sessions in school with gas masks and shelter storming. I have gone through wars in former Yugoslavia during my youth. My family was bombed by NATO in Belgrade also. I still have hope that things will change.
I cannot give You any advice except hoping for the best and trying to change things in any way You can.Action!

My sisters husband got shipped out 2 weeks after they married. What a honeymoon.
I wouldnt worry, you can be against the war but still fully support your brother.

I hope your brother come back safe. I feel for everyone going through war shit. I know many people from Yugoslavia and I know how they felt when the great us army bombed them back in '99.
Oh, wait, I was there too. Shit.

imaleting, of course everyting depends on the perspective. If i was in your situation i would definetly want war with iraq. But i'm not and the truth is that huge amount of many will be spend and significan nimber of both American and Iraqis lives will be lost to protect your (and only yours) country...
