What range is "cheap" for you?

hp1100 has always been incredibly trusty. i paid 200 for it about 2/3 yrs ago so its probably extremely cheap now. i used it for professional/personal layouts. i love it

I've had 6 Epsons and loved each one. The new Photo printers (not the standard ones) are truly superb. But I've been looking into a new one for >300 and the new Canon's look great. PC Mag/World has a write up in the current issue. Look on their website:

http://www.pcworld.comI think those are right. You can't go wrong with Epson, though.

i agree, I've been using Epson's for about 4 years, great stuff. i was able to purchase the 1270 from Epson for $300, it originally sold for around $500. it's does 13x how ever long a paper roll is. they were getting rid of it because the 1280 was coming out.
even after a 6' drop, still going strong.

...so what shoul ibe looking for when buing one? Are yor recomendations based on personal experiences or the technical specs of each printer?

Epson c82 at bestbuy for 129 bucks get the replacement plan for 40 bucks and freaking take it back whenever your ink runs out. It is a badass printer for 129 bucks, not a 1280 but it gets the job done.
