a simple logo crit posted on pbs? *sigh*
just random thoughts:
love the middle 3D one, its extra cheesy and sport/action esque. suits perfectly with jiu jitsu. though the triangle logo doesn't fit to well behind the text.
the illustration of the fighter may need to be bolder and less detailed (more logo like).
where the type is all in uppercase, perhaps only have those serif wing things on the D and 2 Js? it seems to much like a 'fun font' found on the net.

cheers quamb.
Thats the thing. The guys chose the font. And they like it. They had the triangle. and they're changing their minds on a daily basis. The Illustration of the 2 guys I'd done from a photo. Removing detail will remove impact I feel.
Not sure.

i think when you simplify the illustration it would become more impact.
i don't dig the 3d thing.
think that the logo mus work in b/w, so i would work with colors at the end and wouldn't use gradients at all.

I like the illustration, that guy looks like hes gonna take his fucken head off. I'd loose the gradient tho.

i dunno. hmm... has it always to be illustration for martial arts? and if, maybe something handdrawn would be cool

top left one, but maybe simplifed a bit more

take out the gradient

the top left one, but I would probably just leave the guys and take out the triangle as it is visually fighting the illustration. But I would simplify or bolden the illustration a big more. It won't work well if reduced.
Lose the bottom two, the gradients are cheesy.

Thanks guys, just as I though. Lose the gradient.
I've got every spanker at the club telling me whats wrong with it. And the thing is, the higher their rank the better designers they think they are ;-)
