Hehe. silver has arrived. The print expert. The one laughing at me when I do things wrong. The one I love. My true love.
Or something.

haha. ok that makes sense.
is there any resource online that guides one through the "standard" cropping rules while making a cd booklet?

Fold a bunch of paper together and you'll see the middle pages stick out.
I don't usually bother with this much. It's a pretty small amount. But I tend to stay away from the edges. ie: don't put hairline borders around the trim line.

I KNEW someone was footflirting with me yesterday! I thought the girls opposite had long legs... damn Schjetne!
- Gorbie0
If your booklet is 1-2 sheets (4-8 pages) I wouldn't worry about that at all.
- lifeinsodium0
brobie, but isnt there a way to solve this? i mean what does one do if he wants a thin border along the edge of the paper?
- Gorbie0
I wouldn't.
Nothing under 0.125".
If you need to. Ask a printer real quick. It's just kinda risky, because if their trimming is just slightly off - it looks really bad. There is a much greater chance of the border looking uneven.

On a 36pg magazine I once experienced 2-3mm offset from first page to the middle pages, making my design inconsistant. The printer said they could not compensate for this in the output and can't do it in Quark or inDesign, so you have to drop the idea. But on a 2-8pg booklet don't think about it. But as a guideline keep vital data inside 2-3mm of the trim. Some printers are so stuffed with chemicals they can't see the difference so beware.
Soon we will be stuffed with that shit too Schjetne.
I love that you have your own chatroom here Schatnee. hehe.

thank you very much all of you. my time here at NT has been productive for a change :)

lis, check some magazines or booklets and see how much the offset is. gives you a clue.

Here are more work. Poster and flyer I did a while ago. Sorry for poor picture quality. My camera is crappy, and I'm too lazy to use a lot of time in Photoshop on this.
- silver0
man, isn't that helvetica... nice work!

And here's a quick job application I made 9 months ago when I wanted to quit my job:

No, I didn't get it :( I'm still in the same crappy job.

More work from schjetne!
Here are some posters, flyers and banners I did a year ago:
http://www.schjetne.net/mooh/som…I couldn't find any pictures of any of the banners. I made two banners. One 3x4 meters, and one 8x4 meters or something.

And I have a pretty cool profile on Yayhooray. Comic Sans ALL THE WAY, baby!

Your job application looks very nice. Good work all around. I'm impressed!
