What is the general concensus? Which one? Preference?
I'm leaning towards FontLab. Do you have a problem with that?
Thoughts?
Hello?? Hey! You!!!

Seeing as MM hasn't given Fontagrapher any love since about 1994 I think Fontlab is the obvious choice.

Damn. FontLab ain't cheap!
$550 eh?
Looks like I'll go with that old dinosaur from 94. Educational version is $100. That's about the price range I was looking for. :)

Fontographer. There's not much they need to upgrade on it anyway.

There is a stripped down version of FontLab called TypeTool.
Anyone used it?
I can get it for $50 and that sounds good to me. It seems to have the neccessary features. What do you think about that?

Gorbie,
I've only made a few fonts, but I was definitely happy using fontographer.
When I was in school, we had Chank come and give us a seminar on developing fonts, and he used fontographer.
I've never used FontLab, but I'm sure both programs work great.

fontlab is by far the best. mainly because you cant use fontographer on os x and it's just far too old.
