got the word 'knowledge' in chinese under my left nipple.
knowledge: eternal goal
chinese: traditional, beautiful, one character
stomach: cuz it looks good there, and i don't see anyone with anything there unless it's because there was nowhere else to put a tat.Lived with a tattoo artist and good friend for about a year. Got to see some incredible stuff and some really stupid things that he'd usually have to fix for people coming in from other artists..
word of advice. If you're getting a tattoo, don't look for a bargain (it's amazing how many people do), study your artist, and REALLY think about what you're getting.
OH, and if you're getting something in another language, make sure to TRUST the source of your translator. I've seen a few menu items inked onto ignorant people (not by my old roommate - he keeps things to a higher standard).

glad to say, i got mine before the fad hit... But i remember sitting in m boy's shop in Chicago right when the fad started with people walking in off the street like
"can i get something in chinese or indian?"
"what do you want to get?"
"oh I don't care, i just want some letters that look good"
Silliest shit I've ever seen.

:) no worries jg, i agree with you for the most part. I got mine after research and thought, which, most I've seen have not.
There's a LOT of really shitty ink and horrible places to get it out there.

obey giant star on my tricep, two sparrows carrying a banner that says "fortune favors the brave" in latin on my chest. and a gothic-style J on the back of my neck. (my wife's name is Julie, figured the J would be safe since my name is Jeff! Never get anyone's name on you unless it's your kid's or something).

Yo, Jadran.....that is Paul, but fatter than he is now, and he Guy and Paul are completely separate shops. Obviously, www.darkimages.com is Paul's shop...Anyway, that's where Tim Kern is working now, and where I get my stuff done. Once, in Worcester, Mass. I saw Paul and Guy working on this kid's half-sleeve in Paul's hotel room, it was a SIIIIIIICK collaboration and actually interesting to watch. They're both amazing.
