looks tasty.. would be nice if it had full XHTML / css 2.0 support.
Alse very interested in what AS2 brings to the table.

2 versions it's a stupid mistake. they did the UltraDev version of Dreamweaver didn't survive in the MX series, why do it to flash. I'm doing more developing then before, but still I would prefer a scalable software than having to deal with to applications, a basic and professional versions.....

Upgrade from Flash MX to Studio MX 2004 = $500
Upgrade from Studio MX Plus to Stuido MX 2004 = $500
What's up with that?? Makes me wish I had held out before going all 'Studio'.

Who uses Fireworks? I havn't used it in over 3 years and I don't see why I would need to now. And the only reason I used it before was to see what it did. Am I missing something?

I love fireworks.

2 versions of Flash is very lame.
I'm sure its so they can crank more money out of us current users and get more of the skip intro dorks to get in on the lighter version.
Looks cool, just the 2 flash versions is a lame idea.

Fireworks does some things extremely well. I have a much easier time going from FW to flash with bitmaps than Photoshop to flash.

Wow.
So much stuff.
I want a walkthrough of what's new in ActionScript, however.
that and details on what exactly CSS support means.
I mean, why add CSS support when you only have support for HTML 1.0I'm hoping they will have improved support for HTML in text boxes. I don't expect tables or anything, but still.
I can't see any reason to purchase Professional beyond supposedly improved video performance.
Although I could see how the project management stuff might be useful. Large, multi-person flash projects can be a pain in the ass.
But then again, you can solve most problems by just building your applications/site with extenisibility in mind.
hmmmm.
I bet MX 2004 is OS X only.

gonna be using professional edition to stream video to distance learners, sweet!

From the system requirements on Macromedia's site:
Macintosh
* 500 MHz PowerPC G3 processor
* Mac OS 10.2.6
* 128 MB RAM (256 MB recommended)
* 130 MB available disk spaceSo it appears that 10.2.6 is the minimum.
