It's finite, eh? That's fraggin brilliant science there. So what comes after the finite "end"?
Should have asked Stephen Hawking when I saw him at dinner at few years back. No, I wasn't actually dining *with* him.

how, in that logic, do you suppose there is an end?
- Mal0
I don't suppose there will be an end of everything.
- Gorbie0
Mal, the question was to Geith.
- Mal0
just my 2 cents Gorbie.

erm... define beginning and end..
well, it doesn't really matter, as your definitions are just perceptions of reality.
- Gorbie0
I realize that Mal, from you're first posts...
I guess in some people's perception, there is always an end.
...as in "everything good, comes to an end".
I think it's our cynical view of 'human existence', that clouds our view of 'existence'.
- Mal0
Yup and I'm pretty cynical in some ways myself but more about religion or the after life and other such stuff that attepmts to undermine the basic pleasure of being.

On the face of it, there is something rather strange about human psychology. Human beings live in a state of mind called "sanity" on a small planet in space. They are not quite sure whether the space around them is infinite or not (either way it is unthinkable). If they think about time, they find it is inconceivable that it had a beginning. It is also inconceivable that it did not have a beginning. Thoughts of this kind are not disturbing to "sanity", which is obviously a remarkable phenomenon and deserves more recognition.
