Left and right is a basic barometer and within each side ther are many varieties and scales. But it is quite easy to see which way you lean by your thoughts and actions.
Saying I believe in what is correct etc. is too vague as you need to even define what it is that you think is 'correct'. And what on earth is a sane moral. Morals are not black and white. When you go through your views and opinions you can build up the picture of your political stance.
I said politically stale because there isnt as diverse range of politics as there should be. As far as I can see when opinions that dont belong within the comfortable clique the entire thread is removed. What is there to be afraid of.

Low - you mean that there are too few nazis around here?
(Bigots + homophobes should come out of the closet now ...) ;-)
- lowimpakt0
maybe theres too many nazis depending on your interpretation of naziism.

low, you'd be surprised.
i have done various personal political preference tests, just to see, and the results were pretty much both left and right.

Most of us probably know people that call themselves socialists, but sounds tory when it comes to 'whats wrong in society today' and others who vote for the rightwing, but express values and morals that are traditionally viewed as lefty. I could name a few among my friends

I've seen sporatic signs of conscientiousness in here - like people asking "if I do this for them, will I sell my soul to the devil?" - but well, probably not enough. Wonder sometimes about the political orientations of fellow designers too. Would assume that there would be more left wingers in the trade that the opposite, but maybe thats just me? Worked for 6 months once at a company owned by a union that were only producing union-related propaganda material aimed at young kids - however everybody who worked there were rightwingers

Oh, You are so right about this. I always wandered why are designers mostly "parve". But, there is also the thing about certain threads disappearing from PV-AN.
I think this is all a result of designers still not finding their true identity and position in the corporate, artistic, technological and many other environments due to design spreading "wide" over these. That is the first step in my view, then comes the open discussion of issues, other than ripping off websites, MAC vs. PC, DPIs, etc.

Or a really really late Sunday night.
I get the opposite politcial impression around here, and see a majority of "left" leaning ideologies.
I like the political threads here since most of the pseudo-design related threads have been rehashed a million times.

Left leaning? Ultra Light Left for your comfort [read "mostly neutral"]? And it doesn't damage Your health or status.

Mental note to myself: Bring this thread back to life friday night when everyone is semi-drunk and semi-aggresive after a frustrating week of work
- imaletin0
I agree, that is an idea. That might spark something. :)

coming from a political background/family, I think it's healthy to have this type of topics here at the PV-AN. As long as people remain polite and respectfull. Politics and Arts walk together since the beginning.
Whoud you prefer to have a 'Pixel Fonts' only threads at PV-AN instead?

i don't believe in left or right.
it's an old fashioned and backward idea of sorting political ideas.
i believe in whatever is correct, or has a sane moral.
