Anyone ever quit a job or have it end (not fired) and never speak to them again?
I was going through my work history and realized I worked at an office two years ago for a few months and it was ok, but then they didn't need me anymore and I left and I haven't spoken to any of them since.

Speaking of which: I was thinking today. how hard its been for me to be satisfied in my career; in the jobs I have chosen.
I'm often upset/disappointed/frustrated with some sort of shortcoming of my situation.
It can be a great opportunity... but the people calling the shots or working with me fuck it up with pour decision making. Or the dev. guy is not very good or dedicated to making a beautifully executed product. I have experienced a mixed bag of these individuals that either are amazing or total shit at their job.
Together they cancel each other out and the out come of the project is usually underwhelming... just shy of that perfect harmony.
I realize there are no prefect scenarios and I might as well be complaining about the sun being too bright... but I can't help but feel unfulfilled in my career.
Im 34 years old and have been doing this since I was 20. I wouldn't say I, myself am the greatest designer out there.
I would say average with the potential to fucking kick-ass! but why haven't I found that stride, why haven't I done the work I admire so much and wish I could do.
Should I just say fuck it and do a bunch of personal work to have those dream portfolio pieces??? Should I bang out mediocre client work on the side???
All I know is, almost every project I come across right now I have a vision to make it great, I layout the plan and give myself 100% to it. Then I keep running into opposition from every damn direction from people that just want the bare minimum. The type of people that verbally blow Steve Jobs and ask me to give them that level of work, yet they don't understand that its their poor decision making that leads to their shit product/marketing/process.
