a nice POS with USB
- XC010
has no visual appeal.
glad to see some competiton for Apple tho, i'd love to get an ipod when the price is right.
- swollenelbow0
hahah...dude, both the phillips and the dell, don't go over 20gb...phillips only makes it for 15...what the hoot man, you just can't touch the ipod.
wtf!

I dont understand why other companies don't just hire (and listen to) GOOD product designers!?

iLash - Get lashed with it.
- kerus0
yeah, it definitely LOOKS cheaper than an ipod too..

And why are Sony still insisting on doing flash memory MP3 players when they have the ability to create a harddrive product that could blow the ipod away.
- ikbenvanrijn0
maybe cause the flash mem sticks can be a money maker for them with people upgrading the cards etc
- pand40
USB is for old women who like to be a part of the revolution.
when you buy an ipod you also buy speed.

we need these tiny hard drives in everything now, anyone know of any digital cameras on the horizon w/such storage?
You'd do great with a digital camera with even 1 GB of storage.I had the Sony Mavica CD-1000 that used the 3" cds, loved that camera.
- kerus0
that mavica that used 3" cds was great.. very annoying at times, but equally great

compact flash type 2 cards are in alot of digital cameras, that is compatible with those ibm microdrives that are up to about 2gb now
- unknown0
It's just that those compact flash cards cost way too much.
When are they going to be like RAM and have their price drop?I want to get a 512 card for my Fostex MR-8 digital 8-track, and the ones that are compatible are about $120.
It's just that there are so many other things I need $120 for.
I was looking at getting a new camera too and just wish memory cards were a reasonable cost.

you guys a can be a bunch of fucks sometimes.
its a pc product, and you title it better than iPod, all this mac vs pc shit in every fucking thread is getting really annoying
you use what you use and you're proud as hell, good for you.
I've stopped caring.
- unfittoprint0
I don't care how ugly an mp3 player looks like. It's going to be in my pocket for crying out loud!
Small, shock resistant, 10gb capacity, good transfer rate, nice sound is all I care.
I'm buying it to listen to music, not to flash it around. It's cool if you're 10 years old, otherwise buy a mesh cap, it's cheaper.
- unknown0
ditto unfit.
If you're buying something for the sake of flashing it around and being a show off, you need a new perspective on the world.
In contrast, if the ipod is the best player there is from a functional standpoint, then it's good to go with. But does the Dell do the same thing as the ipod?
If yes, then it's to consider if your mind can get past the hype of having the ipod over anything else that functions much the same, but just looks different. Finally, with regard to just how much storage the ipods have, I seriously can't see the need to have 5,000 songs to choose from to listen to.
- Demo0
I can't believe someone wove 'mesh caps' into a thread about a Dell mp3 player. Only on NT.
Anyhow, I hope there is better competition for Apple, to create a better price for the ipods. Still too expensive.
And I'd never thought of putting one of those microdrives in a digicam, MAN, that would be amazing!
- unknown0
I know. people would probably replace their cameras in droves if there was a decent price on new cameras with those drives. Could you imagine being able to take a few gig worth of 4+ megapixel photos?
- woodyBatts0
what a cheap rip off. Looks like an iPod except they call it a "DJ"
so lame, like "DJ"s anyway
- swollenelbow0
i like nice looking things. not to show off but to make me happy. the ipod makes me happy, most people who look at it don't know what the fuck it is...they could care less if it looks like shit. but for me personally i want it to look tip top. people are assholes anyway...
