It was very good.
MaYo..if you're out there, I thought of you when I was watching it. Guess why?

i'm sure all this sharkey business will be in the extended version on DVD, which I'm hoping is like 5 hours long

where does frodo, bilbo baggins and gandolf sail off to in the end?
is this some big death metaphor? does the book delve deeper into this?
- brandelec0

you mean Miranda Otto? She has been in a lot of movies, including many where she has acted as a South African white chick. She's not bad t'all.

"i think they should give people quizzes on the book content before letting them in to see the movie."
just be happy, you overliterate elitist tolkien-worshipping jackass, that with the movies more people will be exposed to the books than before.
- brandelec0
all i want for xmas is miranda otto.
;)

good point kpl..
but i think anybody who hasnt read the books, cant be taken seriously when giving a critique.

ahhh... the internet at its finest

funny the film doesn't mention that gandalf, elrond and galadriel all leave with rings.
pretty important, i thought.
- kpl0
wholly disagree, nick.
the films are authored by jackson, not tolkien. this is his work, it should be judged and critiqued as his, not as just a derivitive of tolkiens.compare and contrast critique is valid, but critique about the movie itself with no consideration of the books is also valid. Same goes with any book->movie adaptation. Once it moves from one medium to another, it changes into its own distinct work.

think i read that gandalf was wearing a ring at the end.
although I can't say i heard it myself. when I saw the movie, the theater's power went out at the LAST FRIGGIN FIGHT SCENE IN THE MOVIE.
in case you're all wondering why I'm rather pissy today.
- sputnik0
i smell refund!
seriously...i'd be beyond pist.
- nick0
ok, you're right..
but a lot of the ignorant posts in this thread are simply a result of the person not reading the books..
when you havent read the books, you really have no idea what the fuck is going on........
sure you can have an opinion.. but it doesnt make it right, or even relevant. (ok.. im being a little harsh) .. but really.
- brandelec0
boo hoo you dorks, get over youselves, it was a great movie
as well a great book, if people feel the way they feel because they didn't read the book, then the movie failed them..so you read it, do you want a percentage or something?
how about a high five
*raises palm
don't leave me hanging

u talking to me?
