hey all,
question for anyone that knows coldfusion scripting.i'm trying something in coldfusion that usually is really ultra simple in php (have to. Client server is windows)
i have to send an email from flash(their customer), to MY client with the person's name, email address, and mailing address.
I have the fields and their variable names are FirstName, Email, and MailingAddress. In flash i POST these to cfmail.cfm.
The flash AS is http://containedenvironment.com/…the cfmail script is http://containedenvironment.com/…
doesn't work.. any ideas? is there any reason i have to config something with their server or something? permissions??
man, i'm beginning to HATE working with windows servers.

coldfusion from macromedia. just another scripting language like php, asp, etc... it's just that i don't know it and it's my only option for a mailing script.

This will give you an example of using flash with cfmail. I have used it and it is simple. Goodluck.

flash has trouble using the post method with loadVariablesNum on certain windows servers. that seriously is probably it. i racked my brain for nearly a week at a client site once. worked fine on linux, ported to ms and the scripts stopped working. i removed the "POST" and everything worked fine.
loadVars is the way to go btw. loadVariablesNum is super buggy.

Cold Fusion can be tricky as hell

yeah, seems like it.
from the look of it though, some of the tags are a little more straightforward than php/asp, but until i have a reason to switch, cf can just take a long walk off a short pier.
