cheers pocho
clark sounds like a strong candidate - only thing that worries me is his army background....
- BonSeff0
his army background is one of the major reasons i support him. i thought he did a hell of a job in kosovo. he seems like a strong family man too.
- GreedoLives0
his army background could potentially be a problem for him (if elected). he was not at all popular with the pentagon boys.
but i do think he's more charismatic than dean, and it seems that's what elections are decided on these days.

his army background was one of a peacemaker, As NATO's Commander, he fought against Clinton's bombing campaign in Bosnia, stating it would take too many civilian lives, and pleaded for ground troops, which never happened, but I remember him on CNN at the time stating his position.
After Sept 11th, he stated on CNN that governmental think tanks had contacted him to start placing the message into his CNN role as military advisor, that there was a direct link to Saddam in the attacks, which he quickly vehemently denied, as he outed the first of the Bush parties lies.
I like him.

Agreed, Bonseff. His family was why he was reluctant to join the race at first. He didn't want to make them go through hell.
I LOVE the way he challenged Karl Rove, Bushes right hand man a couple weeks ago.
Whaddy think about Madonna endorsing him? That could go two ways.

- jevad0

- bob0
Puppets.
- pocho0
Yeah, bob. We're having some intelligent discussion here; some sharing of information. People are trying to decide what's best for them in the next four years.
"Puppets" adds alot to the case for another 4 years of Bush. Care to expand on your post?
- jevad0
from bobs site:
"I support the Bush Presidency and would like nothing more then to see him lead our county for four more years."
well...some schmuck has to....
- pocho0
Sure bob...let him lead your "county", but someone else needs to run my COUNTRY.

I aint voting for Bob!
- lyrek0
Brundlefly: you can have my vote. As far as I'm concerned, our views are identical and it's amazing to see a neighbor to the US that's so educated and interested in the issues that affect us.
If this was YH, +1, man! Keep it up!
ps. the blackout was your fault. :)

brundlefly, some great points.
alot of great posts, really.clark04.com and dean4america.com have demystified the points that will affect my decision, and vote.
i know that the only way to grapple the die-hard republicans (my parents in middle america) which are somewhat flustered for the first time with their chosen leader, are to present the strongest alternative possible.
I don't think my father would vote Democratic if that candidate wasn't Gen. Clark. Or maybe Kerry, since he seems to be a Republican in sheep's clothing at times. They both have military backgrounds and are strong against Bush's record with tax plans, welfare, and education. I think a lot of people who regularly vote Republican, and are wavering this year, may be faced w/ the same decision.
I don't like Kerry. And it seems I'm pretty level with most of you on this matter.
I don't think middle American straight-down-the-ticket Republicans would vote for Dean.
Veterans and baby-boomers want a strong leader w/ a military background (that's a reason we'll be seeing a flight-suit bedecked Bush in the next few months...the other, obviously, is because he couldn't possibly promote himself behind any other platform, because he failed miserably at everything else.).
The press has started to criticize Dean more, but that's only because it's what they do to the frontrunner.
So, right now, I'm at Clark 55%, Dean 45%.
Ultimately, they both are worlds better than Bush. But rather than making this the lesser of two evils (or even the evil of two lessers), I'm casting an idealist vote and, for once, trying to elect that candidate that America NEEDS. A good president.
