I'm updating a simple order form in Pearl (i think it's pearl as it has *.pl extension). From the secure page i go cgi/addform.pl page. Unfortunately even though it seemed to work before it doesn't anymore. I have a backup copy of the file and when i link to tak it seems to work fine.
SO my question is is there a limitation as to files size or something (the backup file is 17kb while the new file is 33kb).
All help would be appreciated as i'm not a programer and just did a basic update.

make sure you upload the files in ASCII mode, not BINARY. Other than that, ther's of course many other things that could go wrong, but try that first.

yes i remembered that. what's the next thing?
- toastie0
um.
a) does it tell you the error?
b) if no, do you have telnet access to the server, cause if you do, you can try executing the .pl file and it will give you the error there.
c) what changes did you do?
- toastie0
and it's Perl, not Pearl :)

dude, thanks for responding (especially since it's teh weekend).
How would i execute the file through tellnet?
For instance here (backup):
http://broadwest.com/cgi/addform…But the original page doesn't show up:
http://broadwest.com/cgi/addform…

it's a malformed header error. make sure you print "CONTEXT="text/html
" before anything else.

er, it didnt show up.NT wont allow return characters to be printed. go here to see.

print <<exoskeleton;
Content-type: text/htmlThat's what i have before the page begins on teh buckup and the original...

yeah, thats what i meant. Sorry for the brain fart. Make sure there are two return characters at the end.

i don't know, i just checke the buck up against the real file and it seems the only difference is the the extra lines with the added lines. Everything else seems to be the same.

permissions maybe?
do you have a difference app? so you can check the code side by side, that highlights the differences between the two.
