no it should actually work. It does matter though that your sound loops. Meaning I could take a billion of the loops I have and make them into Ringtones and offer them as originals. It would just take me forever to do it and I'm lazy ;)

If you hunt long enough there is a .wav to .mid or .wav to .smpa or whatever the standardized ringtone format is. Yamaha makes a free one.

Hey JazX, you sound like you know what you're on about -
I was fine up to the point where someone said 'MIDI is just a way of telling instruments to play a note,' etc.
As I understand it, and in my experience, MIDI files are really a digitized musical score - play instrument 21 - A then G, pause, play midi instrument 19 - C, D etc..at THIS tempo, etc.
Do you mean, by your previous postings, that you can take a .wav and in some way convert that to an orchestrated MIDI sequence, that will convert the frequencies and waveforms in that wav into a series of triggers for standard MIDI, that will reproduce the sound in some way ?
Would love to know your response :).
