I am looking for a compact digital camera that has adjustable focus, f-stop, and shutter speed. Since I would like it to be small, I realize that it will probably not have exchangeable lenses. Any recommendations?
Thanks.

I just bought a canon Powershot G5.
this baby has a fully manual mode where you can adjust F-stop, focus, exposure(speed), WB you name it. Excellent quality images too.

I use a full size SLR digital camera at work. What difference can i expect between the two. I don't know a lot about cameras, but I would imagine with a lens size that small the amount of gathered light might be limited.
Maybe I am talking out of my arse?

While looking at the specs of some of these cameras I noticed something else that is a little curious. The f-stop range on the these cameras is tiny - like 1.8-4.0. Strange?

Clearley the full size SLR will be the better choice, but with the new chips Canaon is using the differences will be minimal and probably only noticeable to you.

i have been looking at the Canon G3 and G5s. They seem to offer a litte more lens. Just not sure how large they are.
Anyone have experience with these?
