Does anyone know if you can make vinyl toys at home? Are there any good links for sites that explain this?

what are vinyl toys?

do you mean like molding your own vinyl?
- nLHb0
Yah, I want to try to make toys that are like the ones at http://www.magic-pony.com but with my own designs. Is that possible to do that at home?

DIY toys would be pretty cool.
definitely will make my list of "stuff i gotta do someday but will never actually get to"

Making toys would be the best, I have started sculpting with clay but it just ain't the same, you know?
- SCARS0
make yer sculpture(prototype) out of something like sculpey that will harden, make a silicone mold and fill that sucker up with 2 part liquid poly-vinyl ...or something. Just look up silicone molding and or rotocasting.
You'll have a perfect home made dildo in no time

hey dude... tried resin yet? you gotta make a mould though.
i've seen some folks do it from scratch and it takes them like 3 weeks just to do half the mould.

here is an interesting interview with Eric So (hk toy designer) - seems he makes the toys in clay - http://www.pixelsurgeon.com/inte…

try this forum:
http://pub140.ezboard.com/bningy…a toy forum, i've read some topics on making your own vinyl figures on there before.

they have bendable sculpey which is pretty cool
- nLHb0
You can get bendable sculpey??? Cool! I have the regular stuff, and it is really hard to work with because it never dries.

Got this link on my bookmarks long ago, it's a little bit old, but you can find some nice stuff.
http://www.smallstuff.ch/sculpti…I'm with monospaced, create your model in 3D (i found it easier than molding it the traditional way), print it:
http://i.materialise.com/3dprint…(i've never used this one, but you can get a 3d preview of your model and get a price estimate).
And create the mould, repeat process!
Post the result, it will be nice to see!
Cheers!
