Hi!
I'm an intern in a montreal marketing firm. This just came in. A damn client wants us to remove a logo that apperas three times in this commercial. We can't ask the author of the commercial to remove it cause we cant find out who did it. (the client is either very stupid or stuborn because she couldnt say)
SO! i have never done any video editing in my life. I'm only a second year student. Its a .MOV
i need to remove sound for 3 second and cover up a logo three times in this 45 sec commercial. 2 of the times will be easy (just put a black box over it) but the 3rd is harder since it is moving.we are thinking of imorting it in FLASH and editing it from there. But is there any other way? PLEASE HELP

Importing to flash? How u gonna edit .Mov in flash? Use premiere or after effects
- WildPony0
Can you edit around it? Maybe cutting to some other footage or something.
Flash could work. It would take the mov and turn it into keyfriames. You could then add some vector effects to cover the logo up. Premiere or AE would be nicers. But I don't know what your planing to do with the output.

sounds like yopu're in deep water... if you're gonig to go the flash way... which i wouldn't advise... you should probably find something else to stick over it... perhaps another logo...
but then aganit he client asked for it to removed, so you'd better do it...

premiere - not flash

the video is something the client wants to play to his customers on either a PDA (like an iPaQ) or a TabletPC.
so resolution is extremly low. Since I dont have Premier or After Effect I cant edit it. And I dont have the time to... acquire it in an other way... Right now I did a pretty damn good job with covering up the logos. now i just need to fix the little sound blip.
thanks for the advise. I'll get the full Adobe product line for myself eventually and then kick my employer for accepting to edit this video.

after effects - the easiest way would be to re-edit some other footage in as was mentioned before.

no way in hell do you want to edit in Flash. Try Adobe Premiere, Final Cut Pro or even the simplified and VERY useful Sony Vegas Video. Man you are talking video here right (.mov) not .swf. :)

"the easiest way would be to re-edit some other footage in as was mentioned before."
unfortunantly wont that screw with the sound?
- WildPony0
The soundtrack is on diff track then the video. You should be fine. (provided the extra footage doesnt run over)
- JazX0
exactly, you need to think about it in layers/tracks.

Thanks for the help!

alright. A small update. I've found inDesign with the help of a design in a nearby firm.
unfortunantly he said he doesn't know the program well enough to help me out and he is very very busy.
i created a new project. important the .MOV but now what? How do i "paint" over it. remove the sound.
Any resources or tutorials anywhere online that any could point out for me?
Thanks again for the help!!
