Flash in Email??

aynbody got an opinion on sending out emails with Flash??
seems liek i tried it the flash4 or 5 days, but it was quirky.
this is for a opt-in newsletter project.

you just have to do it correctly. check out some of the high octane sites around this place.

I wouldn't do it. Most unix-based mail servers will DEFANGE the swf for security reasons.
procmail is the program and it will rename your swf to somefile.DEFANGEDswf
I never was able to find a workaround.

Default ActiveX settings for most networks won't allow unsigned Flash objects to show in the email preview window.

You wouldn't want to attach the Flash movie to the email, you'd want to host it on a webserver, and reference it. It gets past that problem, and it allows for easier click-through tracking.

true, but many of my clients in the past couldn't get past the idea of the user not being able to view the email offline.
