Moore's has probably received the best promotion boost for his film [even better than being chosen for the Cannes Festival].

If Fahrenheit is anything like Bowling for Columbine, which is certainly *not* journalism, I think it's entirely appropriate that Disney doesn't distribute such propaganda.
I very much respect the liberal perspective, but only when it's substantiated properly. I think Moore is a good filmmaker, and I'd like to see him grow a little more.

I don't see how one can say the bush family and disney are entirely in kahoots since Bush is supposed to be so ultra conservative/christian/republica... and disney is alweay being protested by the Southern Baptists for offering equal health and life insurance treatment (or something of that nature) to gay/lesbian employees and thier partners.
Sorry...I don't don't see political correctness being exclusive to the conservative side of the world.

Very true.
But i've been watching Moore's work since the late 80s (his film Roger and Me is the only decent thing he's done in my book - apart from his Video Nations stuff he used to do for BBC2 that were piss funny), and I think he's truly of the old left. The militant trade unionist types, who believes employers have a cradle to grave duty for their workers and believes in having a large welfare state. Very much a dinosaur.

well exactly, there is no left wing these days anyway, other than a superficial version to appease the voting masses into thinking that they are given a choice when infact the goals are in fact much the same. Green consumerism, and environmentalism etc are other branches of this false democracy.

"You have to question your entire history before you can think freely"
Well put rasko, which is why it is impossible to present truth to the masses. It will always be a question of propaganda from the Left or the Right (in this case) - which isn't specifically a battle against corporations for control of truth - but simply submitting a different form of propaganda. The Media, in all its interstice, is a corporate body, and therefore inherently Right wing - it will therefore always face contradictions in distributing leftw-wing, self-destructive messages.
I dont know if this means Michael Moore and his ilke, need geniunely post-capitalist methods of distribution - or that it is simply harder for him to get his message through existing channels, and he'll just have to deal with it.

I haven't read all the responses so I don't know if this has already been said, but if Disney wanted to keep away from this movie for political reasons, they just did the one thing to ensure that more people will see the movie by giving it LOADS of free press.
