My name is Troy, Castor Troy.

the book is a hard read just because of the language used and the fact that everyone has near the same name achilles aggememnon achibumbum ect. it takes some getting used to.
the basic story is easy enough to follow and grasp though.

ganons friend is right.
it sucked. what a horrible storyline and some parts i couldn't help but laugh at.
the one that got me the most... um... i don't want to give it away... but you'll notice it when you hear it. funniest line ever. listen for a serious part to end with... the trojans. fucking hillarious and it was supposed to be serious.
i get all the premier passes and tihs is one that i wish i would have stayed at home and caught some other time.

hey that is wierd about the british accents andy... oh well, at least they aren't america accents!
so want to go with us tonight?

the movie is acceptable and bearable for a hollywood epic, "hemet cam" is hillarious, and there a some moments where you just want to shout "yall need Dr Phil!"

I liked it when I was a kid, but it's not aged too well. Still funny and entertaining tho.

okee dokie, so i just saw it and all i can say is:
cheeeeeeeeeeeeeese!!!
gooooooooooooooooore!!!there were some cool parts and when i left the theater all i could think of was "dang! i gotta go to greece!" it looks gorgeous.
- nodh0
it wasn't even shot in Greece!
The set for Troy was made in Valetta (capital of Malta)...

Saw it last night -
The story is terrible. It has almost nothing to do with Homer's Illiad which I think is a shame. The deviation to the story is actually distracting.
Beyond that - the effects get old, the overacting gets old, and the fake Brittish accents are annoying.
Pitt is decent, but he's done better films. I'd advise renting one of those instead.

Helen was suppose to be taken back by the spartans. and Zeus was suppose to come down from mt olympus at the end to endorse various trendy footwares.

Macedonia, Greece all those joints are nice! ;)

America arrogantly re-writes! English - not 'British' - accents attempt to give depth to this childish, shallow, ignorant and shameful misrepresentation of a story created by the 'adults' of the human race i.e. the old world...

how can there be a movie about Troy without Eris, the Goddess of Discord?
- vwsung18t0
just saw it, it was good not great as movies go.
eric bana was good
legolas became legolas
pitt was meet joe blackpeople at the theaters were saying that it was a lot like gladiator. i think they were looking to make it like gladiator but ended up with the scorpion king
- abizzyman0
i agree w/vwsung18t ...
eric bana did well.
pitt - he got lots of ass and showed his ass more than was necessary... but that's about it for him. The 'love' between he and his cousin was not believable - because the acting was crap.
overall - way 'overacted'.
This isn't comparable to Gladiator - in no such way - so don't even go there.
The guy I saw this with (amouse on NT) made a good point - Hollywood should leave stories like this alone - you can't jam an epic into a 2.5 hour movie...
... that's why some schlub invented the mini-series!
