where i come from we get grolsch in baby kegs. so nice. have you seen the magnum bottle of heineken?
What is the grolsch font? Thats kinda rad. Next time you drink a heineken study the bottle. its actually really amazing.

true. i love the beer labels.
i kind alike the redesign of the Dommelsch beer as well, the traditional label gets a modern feel..

i must also know that the recently passed away Freddy Heineken's (rip) real ambition was to have a carreer in the advertising world.
the logo was not designed by him, but he did modify, rather rotate, the 2 e's in the name a bit so they seem to look up like smiley faces.
he was quite creative and always looking after details in things.

3 e's.. i am sorry..
and i you had a few of 'em they are prolly 6..
;P

yeah freddie! notorious guy. i actually like the heineken logo a lot. especially the e's. grolsch is nice too. btw haven't been in holland for a while but are the standard heineken bottles are replaced by green (officially the export) ones?
- DutchBoy0
i believe so, Paul.
i haven't had a Heineken in a while.
but if you look at the tv commercials you'll find that quite a lot of beer brands are launching new bottles, even plastic ones, and caps you can turn off the bottle with bare hands.. quite handy.
now that i think of it..
i have seen the 'export-Heineken' bottles a lot in bars here though, so i think.. yes.

twist off caps rule! quite old in the states though. first time i ran into it was in '86 at my uncle's in boulder up in the rockies. he got a couple of beers outta the fridge and got the caps of barehanded. i was like, shiiiit, that guy is frekkin' strong. later i found out that they were twist off caps. quite a disappointment (thought my uncle kicked ass) yet again quite a cool feature. oh and grolsch was (maybe still is) very popular in the states. totally not for the taste but just for the bottle and how it's opened (grolsch bottles abroad are green as well, doesn't look good).
yeah the long necks (meant for export only) seem to be the new heineken standard. i actually like the green more than the brown glass. but i like the regular bottle more than the longneck. and a longneck is just another excuse to make you pay more at the bar (wankers).

true true.
'twist-off' was the term i was looking for.
yeah, i actually had my first 'twist off' beer in my life only a few weeks ago.
;)

i'm sorry. must be hard. :) (twist off caps is a typical us invention me thinks).
