Photoshop jumpy when transforming

When I transform thing sin photoshop my computer becomes jumpy and slow, and then when I let go of the handle on the object, it is fine again.
Any Ideas?

is this mac or pc? if it's mac, i know photoshop runs much better on pc. adobe even posted an article saying this (which was later removed from a huge whining in the mac community.) if you're using pc, 256 megs of ram seems ok. look to the right of your taskbar... is there a bunch of icons in there? ctrl+alt+del and see if you have a ton of processes running. you might have a bunch of unecessary 3rd party software running and taking up all your ram.

yasee, Photoshop worked fine before i tried to improve my system's performanace by changing some settings in the registry, i made a back up before I did and even after i reload and reboot using the back up, it still runs slowly
