installed firefox 0.8 (winXP) on my laptop friday, and within an hour my OS was completely corrupted. after wasting a saturday formatting & reinstalling everything, i eventually got around to putting firefox back on...
within 20 minutes, windows was completely destroyed again.
coincidence? bad machine? packaged virus?
i haven't found anything else about it.

Have you let Mozilla know about your problem? It's stable everywhere else I have heard of, atleast as far as viruses go... I haven't even heard of firefox crashing yet. But I don't talk about it often :)

I had problems after I installed Adobe Acrobat 6. . it integrates itself into the browser and when viewing PDF's in firefox and trying to close them it seemed to hang somewhat.. then when I force it.. the whole thing crashes out.. its ok when I restart the app again though..
Thats th eonly prob I have had so far.. Win XP Pro SP1

anybody else get crashes when firefox launches a java app? that's been the only thing that can bring it down for me so far. (XP Pro)

Firefox crashed at least once a day for me (using it on different computers) Thats when I went back to IE.
I mean what the hell is up with releasing a new beta web browser every 4 months, instead of making one that's actually complete?

how else are they going to test software if they don't beta test it? you're using free software. no complaining allowed.

ive had similar problems with Acrobat and Firefox, can be annoying.
other than that its perfect and runs about 10 times faster than IE on my machine
