OK, lets assume i know NOTHING about print design (which is close to the truth). I have a oversized post card to make tonight and they gave me these instructions...
The specs are as follows:
Print 1-color over 2-colors; 6.0” x 11½”; 80# cover, gloss Side One, matte on Side Two, on single-color stock (yellow, green, etc.). Text only on both sides, bleed, black ink on S1, black +1 PMS on S2 (including Client’s logo).
OK. i don;t know all these details.... like how much bleed? ect...
anyone wanna simplify this for me...
i suck, i know i do, but i need a bit of help.

Width usually comes first, so I'm guessing it's 6 inches wide by 11 1/2 inches high? Set the document in quark preferably, add 1/8" bleed around all sides. Then add a 1/8" safety inside the trim size(6 x 11 1/2") One side is gloss(shiny) with two colors, (black, and a pms color of your choice. The other side is black and matte(not shiny). 80# is the weight/thickness of the paper. I think that sums it up.

I think the specs say that the side with one color is glossy (Side 1), which is kinda weird if you ask me, but that's what it says. Also, the 80# stock (i.e. paper it's printed on) can be one color (not necessarily white) so effectively you'll have an additional color to work with.

Oh yeah, and once you double-check that the PMS color is being used on the matte side, make sure you specify an UNCOATED color (e.g. PMS 648U).
