"Or maybe this means that we should not just rely on "the news" for information."
True, but it's not only about the news, it'sabout people's field of view in general. I often hear people say "Americans are so dumb, they don't know European geography". I usually answer that Europe is thousands kilometers away from America, "now tell me the name of the capital of Moldova, it's much much closer to you than Europe to the US folks". Usually they shut up.

shaft? let me try and explain this to you. i am an american. i have travelled but not as much as i would have liked but intend to in the future.
when growing up we learn ALL about the country we are in conflict with at the time. I grew up knowing ALL about the USSR. the kids today are learning ALL about the middle east. we are taught a tremendous amount of history and current events about the countries that are in front of our nose.
there is nothing wrong with this. i am sure all of Europe will be taught to our kids sooner rather than later.
hang tight. your turn will come. ;)

"who centerized themselves?"
The ones from Europe who think everyone should know €
"why should the US broadcast Euro news?"
You got me wrong, probably my English sucks :)
It shouldn't broadcast and it does not. Thats pretty clear to me. But somehow I expected it would, just like Europeans expect everyone to know the €."The US is the lead right now incase you didn't know"
That is true, but emphasizing it made me smile :) Nothing personal :)))

Scary thing, Americans are actually taught at school that they live in the best and most developed country in the world. Even if it's true, they don't come to this conclusion by themselves, but are fed with this since they're kids. My US cousin said once to me, that the US is a lot more developed technologically, economically and culturally than western Europe. She brought this knowledge from a college class! This just reminds me of times when I went to grammar school in the 80's and we were taught Russia, our best friend (whose army were located all around our country) was the most developed country in the world :)
Now I see kids are being fed with EU propaganda..life goes on.. ;)
