Could i get some feedback on our new software? It's a client/file/project management package for design studios to help with all of the above.
or skip right to the fully functional demo:
username: demo
password: 1234Thanks in advance!

hey.
i was there for a few minutes.
looks ok, but you need some explanation and practice before you're going to use it.i think it is because the user interface, loads of buttons, three navigation depths in one window.
looks complicated on the first sight.

ya, it's a pretty advanced system, but once you know what's going on it's actually really easy. I was hoping we could just send out e-mails to market it, but looks like we'll have to call and make appointments to show studios in person instead. That'll make it easier.
Is it pretty straightforward though once you started getting in to it?

"once you know what's going on it's actually really easy"
yeah right ;)
but it looks nice, contemporary design.
i would like to have a CMS system myself to fit it in websites i design. but those things are way too expensive.
btw, you're the programmer or/and the designer ?
- liquidamber0
well i didn't mean once you know what's going on - i guess i meant when you get your bearings. it's really well thought out and usability is a big deal. the best way to get used to it is to put in a project you may be working on currently - use actual names and titles - instead of just filler text that you forget easily. then you see it in action.
i'm the art director/marketing/scripting/deb... :) i have a software engineer that actually did all the backend.

yes, i can see it is really well thought out etc. but i gave my first reaction.
you also sell other CMS applications?
- liquidamber0
We're mainly a new media/interactive/web design company - we just made the CMS to help with our own clients and then decided to make it customizable and ready to have other studios use it as well. We're very able to help meet any needs as such though - did you have something in mind?
you can e-mail me at also if that's easier for you.

you've got some really good things going on in there. i like how there's a workflow system built in with tasks, due dates, etc.
i'm not too into the big tabs for "projects, clients, users". they would certainly look better smaller.
changing the skins i get an error. Win2000Pro, IE 6.

why can't macromedia just make one?
- MR_T0
Can;t see anything on firefox..is it an IE only thing?
- mrdobolina0
looks great, but isn't it more along the lines of project management?
- liquidamber0
The entire skin (size of buttons, etc) can be changed for each company using the CMS. It's highly customizable.
Very weird that you would get an error when changing skins. What kind of error? We've never had a problem... :-/
- liquidamber0
And Macromedia can't make one because we already have and they should partner with us. : ))))
- liquidamber0
Shouldn't be an IE only thing - can't see the info page or the demo?
We've tested on IE, Netscape, Safari, Mozilla, Opera and no problems...
- liquidamber0
It's project management - but it's also client management and file organization/management.
We've added all 3 in one system.
Instead of having Flight Deck for files and Base Camp for projects (and nothing for real client management like asking for approvals or automatically asking for images, text, or other requirements for a project).

liquidamber:
just emailed a screenshot of the error to you.

I think there's plenty of nicer alternatives to this. You ar enot the first by any means.
- liquidamber0
The skinning error should be fixed - any luck?
- liquidamber0
nope, didn't say we were first - but i don't know of another program that puts all 3 in one. you can find php scripts from hot scripts or other places, but they really don't compare to all the features in our CMS.
if you know of one let me know, i'm not being narcissistic, we just don't know of any others.

Thanks for sending the link to CP-ASAP (which comes out in a few months, btw) - it looks pretty good, some nice features, but it doesn't involve the client whatsoever. With the CMS the client actually logs in, can upload images, text, sounds, whatever, has the ability to approve or not approve any file with the option to leave feedback comments.
The CMS also automatically notifies the client when they are needed to upload a file (again when within 24 hours of requirement due) or approve a file. Very automated.
Anyone know of other systems like this? Thanks for the input!
